National Council for Support of Disability Issues

NCSD is a Non-Profit 501 (c) 3 all volunteer organization

We support ALL types of disabilities. Our projects are:

David, Able Crew member who uses a wheelchair

The Able Crew

http://www.TheAbleCrew.org

The purpose of this website is to advance the attitudes and awareness of the general public towards people with all disabilities with their needs plus their abilities, and to bolster the self-esteem of people who have disabilities. “The Able Crew” portrays people with disabilities as capable, adaptive individuals with unique qualities who can accomplish great things. It will also show how people who are disabled may be disrespected and disregarded and how it affects them. The characters go on adventures, helping each other and others around them (both disabled and not). Each episode features a different character out of The Able Crew that has an epiphany, realizing that everyone is wonderful the way they are, and everyone can strive for perfection in their own manner. The Able Crew is very funny as well as serious.

Alexa, Able Crew Member who has seizures
Riona, Able Crew Member who has Cerebral Palsey
Able Crew member Gabby, with her service dog Sam

People Resources
People Resources is for people who have all types of disabilities. The website provides free online classes, free resume posting for members of NCSD and a free job bank. People Resources is still under development, but is running. Most of the members of NCSD have college degrees and many have advanced degrees. If you have an expertise and would be interested in creating an online class, becoming a volunteer, or posting your resume or job opportunities, please send an e-mail to NCSD.
